Crema de carabassa

Feia molta estona que no feia crema de carabassa, d’ençà que vaig fer aquella estranya dieta abans de casar-me (i d’això fa més deu anys) n’havia tornat a fer. I l’altre dia al súper vaig veure les carabasses, trossejades i envasades al buit, i em vaig decidir. Al cap i a la fi ara és temporada de carabasses.

No me’n recordava molt bé de com era la recepta, així que vaig cercar per algunes de les meves webs de capçalera i no en vaig trobar cap que m’acabàs de convèncer, així que vaig improvisar.

El resultat no va ser massa diferent al que recordava, tot i que en aquest cas, no se si seria un plat massa adequat per a una dieta…

Ingredients (per a 4 persones):

  • 500 g de carabassa (pelada i sense llavors)
  • 1/2 porro
  • 1 ceba petita
  • 1 patata
  • 1/2 litre d’aigua (o brou de pollastre)
  • 100 ml de nata líquida
  • Oli, sal i pebre bo.

Per començar, tallam la ceba i el porro ben petits i ho sofregim dins la mateixa olla que després farem servir per fer la crema. Pelam i tallam la carabassa en daus i la incorporam al sofrit. Mentre, encalentim l’aigua fins que arribi a bullir, i l’afegim a les verdures que tenim sofregint. Pelam i tallam la patata i la incorporam a l’olla. Salpebram i deixam bullir uns trenta minuts amb l’olla tapada. Un cop estiguin les verdures cuites, les trituram fins que ens quedi una crema ben fina. Hi afegim la nata, rectificant de sal si fa falta, i ja està fet. No me direu que no és també ben fàcil de fer i, us assegur que és ben bo!

Pumpkin soup

It’s been a long time since I last made pumpkin soup. It was since I did that strange diet before I got married (and that was ten years ago). And the other day I saw pumpkins, sliced and vacuum packed, in the super market and I decided to buy them. After all now it’s pumpkins season.

I do not remember very well how the recipe was, so I took a look on some of my favourite websites and I did not find any convincing one, so I improvised.

The result was not too different from what I remembered, although in this case I’m sure that it wouldn’t suit in a diet.

Ingredients (serves 4):

  • 500g pumpkin (peeled and seeded)

  • 1/2 leek

  • 1 small onion

  • 1 potato

  • 1/2 liter of water (or chicken soup)

  • 100ml cream

  • Oil, salt and pepper.

You have to begin frying the onion and leek which you have already chopped, and you have to do it in the same pan you’ll use later to make the cream. Then you have to peal and diced the pumpkin and add it to the pan. In the mean time heat the water to boiling, and add it to the fried vegetables you have on the pan. Peal and cut the potato and put in the pot. Put some salt and pepper and leave it to boil about thirty minutes with the pot covered. Once the vegetables are cooked, then you have to blend it in a very thin soup. Add the cream, add salt if needed, and you’re done. Do not tell me that’s not easy, and I assure you it is very tasty!
